Issues For Your Consideration
What is a study?
We may hear the word, research, and assume that research is the same thing as study. It is not. Research has broad meaning. It can mean a search of the literature on the subject. It may mean a collection of medical records gathered from different sources. Research may include double blind study, but when a study qualifies as a study, it is called a study and not the vague term, research.
When committing to any discontinuation plan, we first want to know all about the issue. Then we look for the validly constructed double blind scientific studies that reasonably conclude that the method produces the desired outcome. We want a valid and true study here. We don't get it.
People assume that there must be valid studies somewhere that confirm the safety and efficacy of a withdrawal method. However, when we search for these studies, we cannot find them. People simply assumed their existence. Other people will post about the supposed studies, but these are not produced. Yes, that is correct. There are no double blind scientific studies of benzo withdrawal protocols. That's right: there are none. Why is that?
A double blind scientific study requires both valid structure as well as two groups of subjects. Let's talk about the two necessary groups of people. One group is the test group. The other group is the control group. The test subjects are put through the method to be tested. The control subjects receive nothing...no drugs, no benzos. Now, let's consider the control group. This group does not receive the method to be tested. These people would be cold-turkeyed from the benzo. It is clearly unethical to risk those lives by withholding the benzo drug. Therefore, no double-blind studies are done. This is why no benzo discontinuation method is verified by a true double-blind scientific study.
Could both groups receive a drug to ensure better safety and then the study could be carried out? Yes, but the results cannot be truly valid. It could be argued that it was a combination of the method plus the extra drug that caused the results. This plan would be questionable science.
No benzo discontinuation method is backed by true scientific study. These studies do not exist. They do not exist because they would be unethical.

Where Are The Studies
- Summary: Double blind scientific studies of the efficacy of benzo withdrawal protocols do not exist because they would put the control group at unacceptable risk. This would be unethical.
